This metal expansion joint is suitable for all suspended false ceilings in buildings: railway stations, airports, shopping centers, etc. It is easy to install using hooks (not supplied with the expansion joint profile). We offer both flat and angled models to cover the entire ceiling. Our JDV 4.16 is available in 3 linear meter lengths.

Embedded accordion ceiling expansion joint

Specially designed for suspended ceilings, this aluminium suspended ceiling absorbs large multidirectional movements thanks to its flexible insert. In addition to ensuring expansion, contraction and shearing movements, this suspended ceiling profiles is aesthetically pleasing. To ensure continuity with the wall, it can be combined with our JDV 4.07 wall expansion joint (with visible or invisible anodized aluminum side plates and vulcanized thermoplastic accordion insert). The inserts of these two building expansion joints can thus be heat-welded together.

To ensure gas-tightness, flame-tightness and thermal insulation (EI), we recommend to install a firestop product such as our blanket VEDAFEU SV in the joint.

If waterproofing is required, we recommend our VED’EPDM membrane.

How to hide a ceiling expansion joint?

This seismic expansion joint system has not just an aesthetic function: it also protects the joint from impurities. Depending on the size of the joint, different solutions are available, such as mastics, foams or expansion joint in building (embedded or surface mounted profile). Most of our metal expansion joint are mechanically fastened with screws. Some are fixed with clips, like our clip-on joint covers, and others with glue.

Seismic expansion joints are durable products. In fact, if the product :

• respects the various movements of the building,
• the expected floor loads (for a floor expansion joint),
• is properly protected during the construction phase,
• is correctly installed with the right accessories,
• the material is environmentally friendly

then the building expansion joint can last for decades.
