VEDAFEU© firestop systems, the reference in building fire safety

VEDA FRANCE specializes in the engineering, manufacture and supply of advanced expansion joints (standard et seismic joints) and fire barrier systems for all types of buildings (shopping centers, hospitals, airports, etc.). Committed to developing innovative and reliable products, we have become one of the world leaders in expansion joints and fire barriers.
We offer patented fire-retardant systems with 4-hour fire resistance for gaps of up to 840 mm. Our range meets the most stringent technical requirements and is validated for multiple expansion joint configurations and applications: with and without movement, horizontal and vertical applications, wall-head configurations, facade panels.

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, guaranteeing the highest quality of our products and services and ensuring customer satisfaction.

This fire rated barrier is rated EI 240, with 50% horizontal and vertical movement for joints between 40 and 200 mm. The certificate is available on request.

    Firestop system properties:

    • Compressibility tests: 73
    • Thermal resistance: Up to 5.83 ASTM D5930
    • Sound attenuation: Up to 48 EN ISO 717-1

The role of fire barrier systems in fire safety

    Fire safety

Building fire protection systems help to :

    • effectively protect people and property,
    • protect emergency services and building integrity;
    • safeguard adjacent buildings.

    Passive protection

    Objectives :

    • Reduce fire development,
    • Prevent the spread of fire,
    • Ensure rapid evacuation of occupants,
    • Protect the building structure,
    • Facilitate intervention by the fire department.

How do you install passive fire protection?

There are two types of installation, depending on the project’s configuration and fire classification:

    • Horizontal compartmentalization: insulation of each level: concrete roof slab, concrete floor slabs and external concrete veil.
    • Individual compartmentalization: insulation of each room: concrete roof slab, concrete floor slab, exterior and interior concrete veil.

As with most of our firestop systems, installation is quick and easy. Installation instructions and a video are available on request.

    • Check the joint opening and determine the corresponding model on the fire barrier system data sheet.
    • Preform the U-shaped sheet by folding it in the middle.
    • Apply VEDACOLLE© using a brush and/or spatula.
    • Before the adhesive gets dry, insert the VEDAFEU SV© blanket in compression into the joint, aligning the wings on the upper edge of the joint.
    • To join two lengths of firestop systems, apply glue to the ends of both blankets before compressing them.
    • Insert the connected panel into the joint.
    • The VEDAFEU SV© seismic expansion joint system is now in place. If there is a risk of exposure to water and/or weather, the system must be protected with a VED’EPDM© membrane.

    Our complementary products

To protect the VEDAFEU SV© firestop blanket, a joint cover can be installed on the floor, wall, facade and ceiling. We offer a range of standard and seismic floor expansion joints, as well as our vertical expansion joint covers JDV.Please contact our team to help you choose the appropriate expansion joint covers for your application and environment.
